From our chest pain center and cardiac catheterization laboratory to our open-heart surgical suites, CCU and CVICU, Jackson is well-equipped to handle all matters of the heart.
We have three cardiac catheterization labs. The labs are equipped with Philips flat-panel cardiac systems capable of completing diagnostic, interventional cardiac and peripheral procedures without surgery. The system allows more data to be collected during each procedure and provides staff with instant access to a patient's history.
The Heart Center also boasts a 6 bed pre- and post-procedure unit and a separate waiting room for heart patients.
Another area of focus is emergency intervention to prevent or reduce harm from heart attacks. Jackson Hospital is well-equipped to rapidly diagnose and treat cardiac emergencies, including 24-hour availability of cardiac stent placement and cardiac surgery if needed.
Jackson Hospital was the first hospital in Alabama to be awarded the gold seal of approval for heart attack care from The Joint Commission. To earn the seal, the hospital demonstrated compliance with The Joint Commission's national standards for quality and safety in heart attack care. The certification awards the hospital's dedication to continuous compliance with The Joint Commission's state-of-the-art standards.
