Childbirth & Breastfeeding Classes
The experts at the Family Birth Center are to help you prepare for your big day and the days that follow. The Prepared Childbirth Class is a basic overview of the labor and delivery process. This class is meant to prepare the mother and support person about topics such as late pregnancy, labor, birth, options for pain management, medical procedures, cesarean birth, and more.
The Breastfeeding Class is designed for expectant mothers, fathers, and/or support persons. This class includes basic breastfeeding information and techniques and prevention of common problems.
Board Certified Lactation Consultants
The Jackson Hospital Family Birth Center Lactation Consultant can help you learn how to breastfeed and teach you tips and tricks for the best possible breastfeeding experience. Our team of International Board Certified Lactation Consultant are available after the birth of your baby to help answer your questions, and can continue to help you after returning home.

Special Care Nursery
At the Family Birth Center, our highly-trained neonatologists and nursing staff specialize in newborn care for babies who require additional or specialized care. You can trust Jackson Hospital with what matters most.
Our special care nursery takes care of babies who:

- Were born prematurely and need extra care
- May have health issues such as jaundice, low blood sugar, or temporary breathing problems
- Were born with low birth weight
- Need feeding assistance
- Require special equipment to maintain their temperature
The Family Birth Center has the ability to administer a variety of treatments, including:

- Antibiotic Treatment
- Phototherapy
- Thermoregulation
- Feeding Tube/Feeding Assistance
- Oxygen Therapy
