Jackson Hospital Quarantines NECC Medications Before Distribution

Montgomery, AL- Jackson Hospital was one of 44 hospitals and clinics in Alabama that received certain recalled medications made by the New England Compounding Center (NECC). The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are conducting an investigation of these medicines purchased or produced after May 21, 2012.

Jackson Hospital received only an ophthalmic drug from NECC, produced during this timeframe. The drug was immediately quarantined before being used or distributed to any patient.
