Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider
Requirements to participate in ALCS classes:
- Bring your current BLS CARD.
- Complete the PRE-COURSE assessment with a passing score of 70% before attending the course. To access the student web site, go to www.heart.org/eccstudent then enter acls15
- Bring a copy of the certificate of completion to class. Proof of completion will be required to be allowed into the class.
CLASS STARTS PROMPTLY AT 0830 - IF YOU ARE MORE THAN 15 MINUTES LATE, YOU NOT BE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE CLASS IN PROGRESS.
The recommended prerequisites are: Performing BLS CPR skills according to the 2015 AHA guidelines; reading and interpreting ECGs; understanding ACLS drugs; and performing BLS and ACLS surveys.
This a progressive class (renewal and provider). This course is designed to give students the opportunity to practice and demonstrate proficiency in skills used in resuscitation including airway adjuncts, performing high quality CPR, using an AED, and a monitor/defibrillator. Students will practice the application of these skills in simulated cases in both team leader and team member roles.
For Jackson Hospital Employees ONLY: The course is free, if you attend or cancel your registration according to attendance guidelines. ACLS Provider Manual is available for purchase ($41) or loan (deposit $41) in advance in the Education Department.
For Non-Jackson Staff: - The cost of the course is $150 paid by CASH OR CHECK at the beginning of the class. AHA requires books; the cost of the book is an additional $41. It may be purchased in advance in the Education Department or the day of class. Total $191.
